DICE IIP is a very powerful platform to create culture of innovation throughout an institution. It is typically jointly led by a student society team and faculty in-charge, using the framework and guidance provided by DICE Foundation, USA. As part of DICE IIP, each institution is required to conduct one DICE VIC innovation event every year for which prize money is sponsored by DICE Foundation.
In order involve students from throughout the institution, student teams run marketing campaign and approach students from each department to participate in DICE VIC event. They also approach industry to attend and participate in the final event as well as to support judging process. This enables the institution to establish strong linkage with local industry which can provide seed funds to develop those innovations along with providing internships and other necessary support to students throughout the year.
In each DICE VIC hundreds of student teams from all major departments submit their innovations on DICE Innovation Portal. All these submitted innovations then go through a rigorous judging process by experts from academia and industry, to select top innovations which can then be taken to next step to get developed into commercial ready indigenous products, with support from industry/businessmen and DICE Foundation.

Dice VIC Innovation Challenge 2021 will get launched on Oct 15, 2021 and all universities of Pakistan can participate in this online event.

Project submission is a simple 2-step process.

Step-1: All team members including the team leader will create their accounts on the Dice Innovation portal to become a DICE member at https://diceinnovationportal.com/dicevic by clicking on “Projects Registration”. The team leader will then “Submit Abstract” for their project on this online portal.

Step-2: The team leader will then upload a 10 minute elevator pitch on https://rinstra.com/ under DICE VIC INNOVATION CHALLENGE using the same email account that he/ she used to become a Dice member on Dice Innovation Portal.

The sooner you submit your elevator pitch on Rinstra, the sooner you start receiving votes from the public. Abstract/ elevator pitch submissions start on Oct-15 and the competition ends on Dec 15, 2021.  

Top 20 voted projects will be evaluated by the DICE jury and the results for this nationwide contest will be announced on Dec 25, 2021.

First prize for this completion’s winning will team will be Rs. 100,000. The second prize will be Rs. 60,000 and the third prize will be Rs. 40,000. There will be 5 prizes of Rs. 20,000 each given for recognition of outstanding projects.
