Introduction

The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we are facing since World War II. It is reshaping our society in an unprecedented manner by impacting our health, our communities, and our economy. Even as the global response to COVID-19 focuses on immediate health needs and stopping the spread of the virus, it must also address the socio-economic fallout of the crisis. In response to this pandemic and to harvest the collective power of brilliant minds, the DICE Foundation, USA has launched a 'DICE COVID-19 Global Innovation Challenge' to find short-term solutions to deal with the current and post COVID global challenges and long-term readiness strategies for future crises.
